About ELM Fitness Bootcamp

Training Comox Valley 'Recruits' Since 2001

Fitness AND fun?  Sounds crazy to some but ELM has found a way to make your workouts fun and ensure you get the results you want. Increase your muscular strength and endurance, improve balance and agility, and target your cardiovascular system, all while having fun! 

What exactly goes on at ELM Fitness Bootcamp?  Chin-ups, core training, squat jumps, lunges, balance training, relay races, stair climbing, beach sprints, interval training…it is always a surprise!  You can bet there will be more than a few push-ups as well.  We mix fitness with fun - it’s play-time for grown-ups!  Each outdoor training session flies by and comes to an end before our participants are ready to go home.

Outdoor Fitness Bootcamp Details

Sunrise:: 6:00-7:15am Tues Comox / Thurs Courtenay locations

Prerequisite: Desire to improve fitness. Ability to walk briskly for 60 minutes. All fitness levels will be challenged!
Goal:
Improve cardiovascular fitness, strength, endurance, speed, balance, agility, and co-ordination, all while having fun!

Maximum: 16 Participants.  Space is very limited so register early!

ELM Baby Bootcamp!

Dates: April 17-June 19, 10-weeks

Scheduled Time: Tuesdays 9:30-10:45am

Locations: Various Comox Valley *See Program Calendar
Goal:
Burn off excess body fat, tone muscles, improve endurance, strength and core stability! Learn fun and effective ways to incorporate baby into your workout.

Prerequisite: Desire to improve post-baby fitness and spend time with baby at the same time!  Ability to walk briskly while pushing baby in a 3-wheeler for one hour.  Running is optional.

What to Bring: Stroller (see details below). Bring a blanket that you can place on the ground, as well as a baby blanket or towel to make baby more comfortable during matwork.  Bring everything you and your baby will need during the session: blankets, diapers, bottles, appropriate clothing, and water and a towel for you!

Maximum 16 Participants.  Space is very limited so register early!

Details for Participants

Stroller Policy: 3-wheeler multi-purpose strollers only-no strollers with revolving wheels.  Recommend a stroller cover to protect baby from the elements.

Smaller babies who are not yet able to support their heads must be supported in infant carseat stroller adaptors.

Postpartum Policies: Moms must be a minimum 6 weeks postpartum or 8 weeks if recovering from a c-section.   

All Participants: You must complete a Par-Q Health Screening form and it is strongly recommended that you speak with your physician before beginning a new exercise program.

Weather Policy: Baby Bootcamp classes may be cancelled or moved indoors in the case of bad weather as follows:

  • Light wind or light rain. Classes are generally held, so please ensure that you bring a stroller cover that provides protection for light rain and wind. Please ensure that you also dress appropriately.
  • Heavy wind or heavy rain. Classes are generally cancelled in heavy winds or rain. Your instructor will make the decision to move indoors, typically no later than 60 minutes before class time. Contact your instructor or check to see if there is a location alert on the website notifying that class has been cancelled.

Looking for a low-impact version of ELM Fitness Bootcamp? 
We have created this new outdoor conditioning program that is less intense and lower impact but just as fun as our original Bootcamp program.  If you like the idea of outdoor training but cannot tolerate the running and jumping of Fitness Bootcamp or a Running Clinic then this is the program for you!  In this new class, you will get the same awesome benefits as our Fitness Bootcamp without the impact: full body strength workout, cardio training, agility, balance and flexibility training, all outdoors in the beautiful fresh air!

Fresh Air Fitness classes take place in inspiring outdoor Comox Valley locations.  Hit the trails, walk the beach and enjoy the beauty of nature during your workout!

Goal: Burn off excess body fat, tone muscles, improve endurance, balance, strength and core stability! Learn fun and effective ways to exercise safely outdoors.

Prerequisite: Desire to improve fitness in the fresh air!  Ability to walk for one hour. 

Maximum 12 Participants.  Space is very limited so register early!
